On 5.5.2025 at approximately 12:36am, I was dispatched to [1000 BLOCK] Green Meadow Road with reports of an active physical domestic incident in progress. Dispatch stated that they could hear sounds of someone struggling and a woman screaming about being choked. Upon my arrival at approximately 12:39am, I was met by the complainant (Ms. [VICTIM #1]) and the suspect (Mr. Andrew “AJ” Richardson; Ms. [VICTIM #1]’ son) in the front lawn. I immediately detained Mr. Richardson for officer safety and placed him in the back of my patrol car pending the investigation.
While escorting Mr. Richardson to my patrol car, Mr. Richardson claimed that he was served with some sort of good behavior bond telling him to stay away from Ms. [VICTIM #1]. He also mentioned something about being evicted and out of the home by the 13th of May.
I entered the home to speak with Ms. [VICTIM #1] and she stated that Mr. Richardson was not supposed to be on the property and that he was served with court papers stating that. We were able to locate a temporary protective order application which was signed and stamped by a court clerk on 5.2.2025, however, dispatch was unable to locate an official serve date and/or stipulations on GCIC.
Continuing my investigation, I asked Ms. [VICTIM #1] what happened tonight, and she explained that Mr. Richardson was let in by his estranged girlfriend (Ms. [WITNESS #1]), who is also staying at the residence after Ms. [VICTIM #1] told her (Ms. [WITNESS #1]) not to let Mr. Richardson into the home. Ms. [VICTIM #1] continued by explaining that Ms. [WITNESS #1] told her that if Mr. Richardson couldn’t stay, then she wouldn’t stay there either. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that she told Mr. Richardson to leave and if he didn’t leave, she’d call 9-1-1.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] explained that Mr. Richardson and Ms. [WITNESS #1] initially left, but then she caught them coming back in through the back door, that’s when she called 9-1-1. I was able to observe several clothing items belonging to Mr. Richardson outside the back door, on the porch, inside a trash bag. Ms. [VICTIM #1] claimed that Mr. Richardson made it inside the home, they argued about him leaving, and that’s when Mr. Richardson became violent and attacked her in his bedroom. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that Mr. Richardson pushed her down between his bed and a nightstand and put a pillow over her face approximately 3 times. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated the first two times he put the pillow over her face, she couldn’t breathe and on the third time, she was able to bite his right hand (I did observe and document a bite wound on Mr. Richardson’s right thumb), Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that Mr. Richardson then bit her on her left palm; I was also able to observe a cut on her lower right lip (I documented Ms. [VICTIM #1]’ injuries). After the struggle, Ms. [VICTIM #1] claimed Mr. Richardson got up and ran outside when he heard my sirens approaching.
Ms. [WITNESS #1] was not on scene to give a statement.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] declined medical attention after being asked several times. She stated that she’d go to the hospital in the morning. Sgt. Koth advised Ms. [VICTIM #1] that she should also seek a temporary protective order for Ms. [WITNESS #1] in case she returns. At this time, I was not able to locate the alleged court ordered/signed temporary protective order even after Sgt. Saye attempted to reach out to other deputies on the previous day shift. An additional charge of Aggravated Stalking is pending depending on if Mr. Richardson was properly served.
At approximately 1:26am, I escorted Mr. Richardson to the Morgan County Detention Center and turned him over to the jail staff on duty without further incident(s).
At approximately 10:30am, I was contacted by Judge C. Holt and informed that Mr. Richardson did in fact violate a family violence good behavior bond/agreement. Additional charges were filed as a result of this new information.
